Sheriff John T. Chance has his hands full after arresting Joe Burdette for murder. He knows that Burdette's brother Nathan, a powerful rancher, will g...o to any lengths to get him out of jail. Chance's good friend Pat Wheeler offers to help but within 20 minutes of making the offer is gunned down in the street, shot in the back. That leaves his elderly deputy Stumpy, the town drunk Dude - once a deputy and a pretty good shot when he was sober - and a young hand, Colorado, who used to work for Wheeler. Rio Bravo (1959) is an action-packed Western film that follows Sheriff John T. Chance as he faces the daunting task of protecting his town from an influential rancher, Nathan Burdette. The trouble begins when Chance arrests Joe Burdette for murder, which infuriates his brother Nathan. Knowing the lengths Nathan is willing to go to see his brother freed, Chance realizes he will need all the help he can get.

Unfortunately, Chance's good friend Pat Wheeler, who offers his assistance, is gunned down just moments after making the offer. With Wheeler out of the picture, Chance is left with his elderly deputy, Stumpy, and Dude, a former deputy who struggles with alcoholism. Additionally, Colorado, a young hand who used to work for Wheeler, joins Chance's team.

On the other side, Nathan Burdette has a group of fierce men that he can call upon at any time. To defend his town, Chance must strategize and prepare himself and his team. Alongside the tense action of the film, Chance also finds himself falling for a young woman named Feathers.
